Taking shape

Finally, 'Easy' is taking the shape of a sea-going vessel. All paperwork cleared, charts, pilots and tide tables. LEDs in the lights that we will use a lot, including a cute new red light above the chart table. And.... let's not forget, my childhood's dream: "A sailing boat with a dinghy!" (see previous post).
At least 70% of all money spent was on necessary safety gear, both above and below decks. It's incredible how much stuff you buy that you really really never want to use. The emergency VHF radio antenna for example. It means the mast is gone.... It also means you used the emergency hacksaw and the 'incredible bolt cutter' (the one that snaps through 12 mm stainless steel wires without effort).
How about stuff to retrieve the drowning? Buoys, floating devices and lifting devices.... Knowing full well that the likelihood of finding a lost man at sea is less than 30%. But everybody has them, they're mandatory...
I don't want to elaborate on the life raft.... Let's say we're almost ready for Norway...
