Big Dig Delft (part 1)
Delft Demolition Derby...
This is the street I used to live in as a student. Upon return from Germany, obviously they've started the demolition of the neighbourhood around Delft's Central Station. Facades have been removed, exposing the rooms that were the home of students for generations. Their proximity to the railway tracks, made these monumental mansions unpopular with the upper class that they were built for originally. They were - however - very popular among the students, who loved the large 4 meter high rooms with ceiling ornaments. The garden - squeezed in, between the house and the tracks - was an asset, in a city dominated by bricks, alleys and canals.
