A touch of Death Valley
Mahogany Flat
Just outside Death Valley; temperature hits 111°F (44°C) and the 'Harley men' returning from Badwater basin claim they saw 126°F (52°C). So... above a preview of what we'll get tomorrow, below the charcoal kilns from Wildrose/Mahogany Flat. The beehive structures were built in 1876 to provide charcoal to the silver and lead mines. They functioned three years, before they were retired. I guess waste is not a recent invention....
