In Death Valley we came across the most remote Shell station in the world; just two pumps with a tiny roof but very neat. All around it nothing but desert. Pumping gas at 126°F (52°C), is a very intoxicating experience by the way.... Along Route 66, Arizona holds the record for the worst maintained station which hasn't been upgraded since the invention of the automobile.
